The Order of Carmelites in the Philippines with the Carmelite Mission and Development Office (CMDO) will be launching two projects intended to help raise much needed support for the Order’s local and international missions.
On October 15, feast of St. Teresa of Avila, a Holy Mass will be celebrated at the Titus Brandsma Center in New Manila, Quezon City, 5pm., to be presided by Fr. Rico Ponce, O.Carm., prior provincial of the Order of Carmelites in the Philippines and Papua New Guinea. He will be joined by Fr. Martin Pierik, O.Carm. who will deliver the homily and other Carmelite priests.
After the mass will be a brief program at 6PM where the launching of the Province’s first-ever album entitled Guidepost: Monte Carmelo will be held. The album feature songs composed by Fr. Rico and Fr. Aris Escobal, O.Carm., assistant parish priest of Sagrada Familia Parish in Bagong Silangan, Quezon City.
The album has ten songs recorded in the newly set-up Fr. Bernard Roosendaal Memorial Multimedia Recording Studio.
In the same event, the Carmelite Mission Partner program will also be launched. The CMP hopes to create a mission fund that will sustain the growing ministries and apostolates of the Order in the Philippines and Papua New Guinea.
The program will be livestreamed in the Facebook page of Philippine Carmelites (www.facebook.com/CarmelitesPhCom). For more information on the CMP program, contact the CMDO at cmdcoffice@yahoo.com.
