Consecrated life is a gift. Its mission and vitality depend on the faithful commitment of those who respond to the invitation of the Lord.
Thus, in essence, it is a vote of confidence in our Lord, Jesus Christ, who continues to call men and women to follow Him. It is also an expression of trust in the Holy Spirit, who inspires people to consecrate themselves to God and bestows the charisms of every Institute.
The invitation of Jesus to “come and see” (Jn. 1:39) is the initial dictum by which a candidate feels called to experience the beauty and joy of living “in allegiance to Jesus Christ” and responding to the needs of the Church.
The Philippine Carmelite Province of Saint Titus Brandsma is committed not only to providing those who respond to this call with guidelines on how to live as Carmelites, but also to forming them to be relevant ministers, pastors, and prophets who can readily respond to the call of the times.
Our mission is to form Carmelite friars who are faithful and rooted to the Carmelite traditions and spirituality, teachings of the Church, rendering prophetic and authentic service to the people, and supporting their struggle for justice, peace and integrity of creation.
To this end, the Order of Carmelites in the Philippines has adopted a formation program that is contextualized, established, implemented, and rooted in the hopes, dreams and struggles of the people.
